Betty was born in Jamestown, ND on April 13, 1928 to Anna and Victor Mattson.

She met her future husband, Don, in Duluth and they married and started a family. They moved to Minneapolis, then to Louisville, KY and settled in Albuquerque in 1964.

Betty lived a life of service to her community. The Linus Project, Presbyterian Hospital,  League of Women Voters, the Catholic Church, Cosmopolitan Women’s Club, Greater Federation of Women’s Club, Keystone Homeowners Association are just a few of the organizations that benefitted from her involvement.

She and Don enjoyed traveling in their motor home to visit family and friends. After Don passed away she started working part time for her daughter, Julie.

She started traveling the world extensively after working for ten years.

Betty enjoyed reading (a love she instilled in her children), playing bridge, watching Jeopardy and The Andy Griffith Show, jigsaw puzzles, butterflies and her evening glass of Chardonnay.

She is survived by her sister, Marguerite Alimena (Leonard).

Her six children and their spouses: Lesley Morawski (Longine), Mark Campbell (Lita), Julie Seery (Dick), Paul Campbell (Sherry), Lisa Wolonsky (Glenn), Ellen Espinosa (Michael).

Nephews: David Marcovitz, Robert Marcovitz (Christy) and niece, Janet Johnston (Michael).

Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Don Campbell.

She was extremely proud of her six children, 19 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren and throughly enjoyed being the matriarch of such a large and close-knit family.
