Betty Jean Fragua

With great sadness, we announce the passing of our most beloved and beautiful Betty (“Betty Boop”, “B.J. Fragua”) Jean Fragua, age 59, who passed away January 27, 2022. She was born on October 10, 1962, to Manuel and Juanita Fragua in St. Louis, MO.

She was preceded in death by her son, Jonathan (JayJay); her father, Manuel; and her grandmother Rita.

Betty was a beautiful mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, auntie, and a great friend. She was a wonderful person with a very kindhearted soul that was full of love.

She is survived by her daughters whom she cared for deeply and endlessly, Roxanne and Crusita; her mother, Juanita Fragua; her sister, Glendora; her brothers, Clifford, Donald, and Sammy; her son in law, Paul Ray; and her grandchildren, DeAndre, Gabriella, Lucia, Malcom, and Jaxson; and all other relatives and friends.

B.J. was well-known artist, who was very talented and accomplished. She came from a very artistic family and was known for her beautiful unique style of pottery. B.J. Fragua participated in various Native Art Shows and had many collectors that loved her work.

She also loved to read, write, cook, and most of all talk about her grandchildren, always with a sweet smile. They were her pride and joy and she loved them greatly. B.J. Fargua was always full of laughter, had a great sense of humor, and would always give big hugs.

She is now at peace with her father Manuel, her son (JayJay), and her grandmother Rita. She will be truly missed and loved by everyone who knew her.

She can now be the “Brightest Star” in the night skies and will always be in our hearts as our shining star always.

Memorial Services will be held on February 15, 2022, at 1:00 PM, located at Daniels Family Funeral Services, 3113 Carlisle Blvd NE, Albuquerque NM 87110.
