Betty Mary Harris

BETTY MARY HARRIS, 68, of Farmington passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at her home. Betty was born March 1, 1941 in Black Rock, NM the daughter of James Wilford Ashcroft and Josie Bertha (James) Ashcroft. Betty graduated from high school in Ft. Defiance, AZ and later married David D. Harris on March 29, 1958 in Gallup. Betty enjoyed rock hunting, playing with her grandkids, fishing, and riding 4 wheelers. She was an active and faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many positions including, primary president, primary teacher, and was in the Relief Society presidency. Her greatest love were her children and her husband. She will be dearly missed by all her family and friends. She is survived by her husband of 51 years David D. Harris of Farmington; sons David Harris (Dawn) and Ron Harris(Debbie); daughters Debbie Brogan and Kathy Englehart (Larry) ; 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; sisters Ira Morehouse and Olive Trout, and brothers Earl and Rex Ashcroft. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and a brother Tony Ashcroft and a sister LaVerda Ashcroft. Pallbearers are Larry Englehart (son-in-law) David Holmes, grandson-in-law, and grandsons, Harris Brogan, Seth Englehart, Levi Harris and Jared Harris.
