In Loving Memory of Betty Nell Lucas Hart
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Betty Hart who left us on September 30, 2025, after a courageous battle with Dementia.
Born on April 6th, 1933, in Decatur, Texas to Hudson Lucas and Elizabeth Woodfin Lucas. Betty was a pillar of strength for her family. Betty was known for her kindness and her mantra “think young”. Betty enjoyed bowling, dancing, gardening, and had a love for jewelry and Hallmark Christmas ornaments. Betty managed Hatch’s/Stacy’s Hallmark store for 36 years.
Betty was survived by her five children: Bryan Hart, Pam Lies, spouse of the late Gene R., Karen Hart, spouse Leslie, Penny Howard, spouse Bradley, Lynn Paliwoda, spouse Rodger.
Betty was also a proud grandmother to ten grandchildren: Joshua Lies, spouse Tori, Rachel Campos, spouse Bill, Rebecca Lies, Eric Tomaszewski, Spouse Justine, Eliot Tomaszewski, spouse Carlie, the late Bryan Tomaszewski, Heather Parker, spouse Justen, Keith Howard, spouse Brittany, Lauren Paliwoda, Ryan Paliwoda, spouse Ileigha.
Betty was blessed with nineteen great grandchildren: Stevie Bradshaw, spouse Logan, Gabriel, Nicki, Tyler, Elie, Levi, Brynlee, Angelina Tomaszewski, Bradley, Landon, Lucas Loftis, Braxton Howard, Aviana Lies, Owen, William, Gladys Campos, McKenzee, Stella, Geena Bercovitch.
Her legacy will forever live on through the countless lives she touched with her warmth and love.
A celebration of life will be at Holiday Bowl on November 29, 2025, at noon for bowling for Betty, then food and celebration to follow starting at 1:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, plant a tree in Betty’s memory Daniel’s Family Funeral for information.
