Betty Jo (Brown) Buffington

Betty Jo (Brown) Buffington, 78, of Farmington passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2010. Betty was born July 12, 1932 in Dover, Arkansas the daughter of Elson Richard Brown and Lorraine (Warren) Brown. She graduated from Dolores County High School, Dolores, Colorado and later met and married Eual “Guy” Buffington in 1950 in Aztec. Betty and Guy moved to Farmington in 1965. She was the owner of San Jun Realty for over 30 years. She received numerous awards as a realtor and held positions with the national state and local realtor’s board. Betty will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. Betty is survived by her daughter Joy Lingo and husband Kenneth; sons Richard Buffington and wife Trina and John Buffington and wife Anna; 7 grandchildren Amy, Scott, Brian, Craig, Stephanie, Aaron and Eric; 4 great-grandchildren Emily, Holly, Natalie and Carly; sister Viola Handwerk and many dear friends and business associates. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Eual “Guy” Buffington and a sister Joyce Anderson. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 15, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the New Covenant United Methodist Church, 4600 College Blvd. in Farmington with Rev. Joe Morris officiating. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers are Scottt Lingo, Brian Buffington, Craig Lingo, Aaron Buffington, Eric Buffington, and James Lesser. Honorary pallbearers are Chuck Holmes, Shawn Holmes. Jeff Logue, Dale Nelson, Chris Fowler and Floyd Begay. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Betty's name be given to the CASA Program at Childhave, 807 W.
