Beverly Ann Gersema, 80, of Albuquerque, NM passed at her home on April 17, 2016. Beverly was born in Marshalltown, Iowa, February 7, 1936. She was the loving daughter of Edith Helen Goodell Burnett and Lester Laverne Burnett, of Nashua, Iowa. Her family moved to Rockford, Iowa, where they had Burnett Hardware, with a plumbing and heating business as well. She then graduated from Rockford High School in 1954, after which she moved to New Mexico living there for the better part of 60 years.
Beverly attended college in Albuquerque, receiving her Master's degree while raising her children, graduating summa cum laude. She was a computer programming professor, teaching for more than three decades, helping generations of young people realize their potential and goals.
She was survived by three daughters, Cynthia (Peter) Haley, Janette (Rory) McClain, and Sandra (David Kerns) St. Germain, her grandchildren David Copeland and family, Jason Copeland, Stephan Haley, and Stephanie St. Germain as well as three great-grandchildren. Other survivors include brothers, Tom (Carol) of Rockford, IA, Dick (Louise) of Vancouver, WA, and Roger (Gayle) of Anaconda, MT. Beverly was preceded in death by her beloved sons, Kenneth and Douglas Gersema, a brother Jerry, and her parents.
Many relaxing conversations ended up in side-splitting laughter, and we all will miss her humor and wit. Her love for family never wavered and her smile, guidance, and love will always be remembered and missed. We are blessed with many memories.
