Obituary

Bobby Raymond Cruz

In loving memory of Bobby Cruz, born on April 8, 1943, in the vibrant city of San Francisco, California. He left this world peacefully, surrounded by the warmth and love of his family at home, on July 12, 2026.

Bobby was a beloved son to the late Cecelia and Arthur Cruz, and a cherished sibling to his predeceased brothers, Ralph and Richard Cruz, and sisters, Lillian Romero and Joann Chester. Bobby's journey through life was characterized by his remarkable kindness and generosity, qualities that left a lasting impression on all who knew him. His spirit lives on in the hearts of his beloved sweetheart, Marguerite Arellano, and his surviving siblings: Dorothy Abbott, Martha Herrera, Elaine Cisneros, Kathy Garcia and her husband Frank, Debbie Apodaca and her husband Tony, Steve Cruz and his wife Patricia & Peggy Cruz; along with many nieces and nephews and Marguerite's four sons, David, Tom, Mark, and Michael.

A proud veteran, Bobby served his country with distinction in the United States Army from 1962 to 1965, earning both an Expert Badge and a Marksman Badge. Following his military service, he dedicated several years to a successful career at PNM, from which he retired, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and commitment. Bobby was an active and devoted member of San Felipe Catholic Church in Old Town, where he found solace and community. His faith was an integral part of his life, guiding him in his actions and interactions with others. Outside of his professional and spiritual commitments, Bobby was a man of many passions.

He found great joy in hunting, golfing and barbecuing, often surrounded by the laughter and love of his family. He also played basketball for PNM and baseball in his younger days. The annual family reunions in Taos were among his most cherished moments, where stories were shared, and bonds were strengthened. The family invites all who knew and loved Bobby to join them in celebrating his life at a memorial service on July 21, 2026. Services are at San Felipe Catholic Church in Old Town with a rosary at 10:00 am. Mass at 10:30 am and interment following at Vista Verde Memorial Park.

Together, we will honor the incredible life of a man who touched so many with his warmth and generosity. Bobby's kindness, generosity, and love for his family will be remembered and cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

His legacy lives on in the hearts of those he touched. May he rest in eternal peace.
