Obituary

Brian P. Schindel

July 4, 1980 – January 13, 2026

Brian P. Schindel, age 45, passed away on January 13, 2026, at his home in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. He was born on July 4, 1980, at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, to Frederick Schindel and Joy Woreck.

Brian grew up in Wisconsin and attended Mayville Elementary School before graduating from Beaver Dam High School in 1999. He built a strong work ethic early in life, which carried through his professional career. Most recently, he was employed with Pearce Renewables of California for six months. Prior to that, he worked for Norhart of Minnesota for three years, where he completed his training and earned his carpentry foreman license.

On April 28, 2023, Brian married the love of his life, Gichelle Mae (Padica) Schindel, in Anoka, Minnesota. Though their time together was far too short—two years and nine months—their marriage was filled with deep love, partnership, and shared dreams.

Brian had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and hands-on craftsmanship. He enjoyed fishing, bow and rifle hunting, target shooting, wood carving, leather crafts, camping, and backpacking. He was a proud member of the Forest Lake Sportsmen’s Club in Forest Lake, Minnesota. Brian found peace and purpose in nature and took pride in creating things with his hands.

He was preceded in death by his biological father, Frederick Schindel; his grandparents, Leroy and Ruth (Niehoff) Schindel; his grandfather, Earl Luebke; and his aunts, Suzanne (Schindel) Metzdorf and Nancy (Schindel) Phelps.

Brian is survived by his mother and step-father, Michael and Joy Woreck of Lillian, Alabama; his beloved wife, Gichelle Mae Schindel of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; his parents-in-law, Rolando and Masueta Padica of Cebu, Philippines; his sister, Jennifer Schindel of Larson, Wisconsin; his grandmother, Marilyn Luebke of Iron Ridge, Wisconsin; his uncle, William Phelps of Fox Lake, Wisconsin; his aunt Jean and uncle Wayne Metzdorf of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin; his aunt Linda Cook of Beaver Dam, Wisconsin; his aunt Lisa Koch and Tim Mueller, of Iron Ridge, Wisconsin; his dear friend and coworker Seth Jones; his beloved dog, Tuxi; and many loving cousins and friends.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Seth Jones for his unwavering help and support during Brian and Gichelle’s move to New Mexico and the start of their new endeavor.

Memorial services will be held in Wisconsin in April, with service details to be announced at a later date.
