Briton “Brit” Alby Hagan, age 41, passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2023, in Albuquerque, NM. He
was born August 28, 1982, to his parents, Gail E. (Buzard) Barger and Alby W. Hagan, in Butler, PA.


He received a bachelor and master’s degree from the California University of Pennsylvania, where he
obtained high honors. Briton also attended the University of New Mexico and obtained his PhD in 2017,
in addition to receiving high honors upon graduation.


He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Thomas and Velma (Honey) Buzard; his
paternal grandparents, Alby E. and Patricia Hagan; his aunt and uncle, Jeff and Kathy Hagan, and his
uncle Thomas M. Buzard.


Briton is survived by his daughter, Aleydis Kai Hagan of Allison Park, PA; his son, Gabriel Alby Hagan of
Albuquerque, NM; granddaughter, Delilah Faye Spiering (1 month) of Allison Park, PA; his sisters, Ashley
L. Scott and husband Rob of Emlenton, PA, and Season M. Weiss and husband Brad of Charleston, SC; his
nephews, Rider T. Scott of Clintonville, PA, and Gavin R. Weiss of SC; his great-nephew, Lexington J. Scott
of Clintonville, PA; step-father, Ned Barger of Parker, PA; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.


Briton was a government employee for the National Labor Relations Board. He was also employed as a
lecturer in Kinesiology, Health Promotion & Recreation for the University of North Texas (UNT) and as a
lecturer in Introduction to Sport Management at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. 

Briton will be missed by family and friends!
