Tonio Armijo, 50 years of age, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 23, 2023. His passing leaves a void for anyone who knew him and loved him.

 

Tonio was born December 31, 1972, in Albuquerque, New Mexico to the late Tony and Sylvia Armijo. He was the youngest of five children. Tonio was raised in the Pojoaque Valley.

 

Tonio is survived by his siblings: Deborah (Marcus), Magdalene (Joseph), Bernadette, and Justy (Tanya). He also has 12 nephews and 2 nieces: Aaron, Eric (Chanet), Dominique (Noelle), Mac, Mari, Miles, Dylan, Xavier, Alejandro, Enrique, Santiago, Joaquin, Scarlett and Jett. Step niece and nephew: Jordyn and JD. He has many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who are going to miss him. He was a beautiful soul who never met a stranger. Tonio always had a smile and a huge hug for you. He was happy and loving. 

 

Tonio was an avid sports fan, animal lover and music enthusiast. His favorite teams are the UNM Lobos, Denver Broncos, Florida State Football and Colorado Rockies. He loved talking about sports and animals to anyone who was around him. Turn on Bon Jovi, Garth Brooks, Journey, NM Music or Brooks & Dunn and immediately his foot would start tapping. Tonio participated in the Special Olympics where he won many awards.

 

A Rosary will be held on June 29, 2023, at Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe Catholic Church in Pojoaque, New Mexico at 6:00 pm. A Mass of Christian burial on July 1, 2023, at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Magdalena, New Mexico at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at the Magdalena Cemetery. Eulogy will be given at 9:45 am before mass. The family would like to welcome everyone to join for refreshments at the Magdalena church parish immediately following the service.
