Henderson, Carlota "Charlotte" 
Age 85, passed away on Monday, January 21, 2019 in Las Cruces, New Mexico. The 7th of nine children, she was born in Magdalena, NM on March 25, 1933, to Juan and Isabel Sanchez. Charlotte graduated in 1951 from Magdalena High School and went on to marry her rancher husband, Bernold Henderson in 1954. Charlotte kept herself busy working for the Magdalena Post Office for 41 years, where she retired as Post Master; working for the public schools as a teachers aide, and teaching CCD classes at St. Mary Magdalene church where she was later their Maradomo. Charlotte was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the Magdalena School Board and the Magdalena Old Timers since its beginning in 1971, eventually earning the title of Old Timers Queen. All while holding her titles, positions, and jobs, Charlotte earned her BA in early childhood development from New Mexico Tech. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son-in-law, Bob Romer; brothers, Jim Sanchez, Leo Sanchez and Herman Sanchez; and sisters, Esther Julian, Mary Hart, and Carolina Castillo. Carlota is survived by daughters, Terrie Romer, and Rachel Buford; son, T.J. (Tanya) Henderson; sisters, Margie Silva and Angie Wanhala; granddaughters Christina (Israel) Jimenez, Velinda Armijo-Gonzales, Cindy Mae Watts and Trinity Henderson; grandsons, Dustin B.J. (Kelli) Buford, J.T. (Samantha) Buford; great-grandsons, K-Von Jimenez, Jordan  Buford, Antonio Gonzales, Jackson Buford and Zachary Gonzales; great-granddaughters, Anissa Gonzales, Kaya Jimenez, Sadie Buford, Lainey Buford, and Paisley Buford. Rosary to be recited on Saturday, February 16, 2019, at 10:00 am at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated immediately following at 10:30 am. Celebrant Rev. John Anasiudu. Burial will take place at Magdalena Cemetery following service. It was Charlotte's wish that in lieu of flowers, donations in her name be made to the Diabetes Research Foundation.
