Carolina Isabel Alaniz, lovingly known as Caro, passed away on January 20, 2026, at the age of 45, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Her passing leaves a silence that feels impossible to fill and a love that will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew her. Carolina was a mother, sister, and a proud grandmother. Her greatest joy in life was her family—especially her daughters and grandchildren—who were the center of her world. She loved deeply, laughed loudly, and lived unapologetically as herself. She was strong-willed, protective, and endlessly loving. Carolina had a way of making people feel cared for, often putting others’ needs before her own.

Carolina is survived by her beloved daughters, Savannah Rae Alaniz of Albuquerque, NM; Amber Rose Alaniz of Uvalde, TX; and Heather Renee Alaniz of Uvalde, TX; her sisters, Angie Marie Ramirez of Uvalde, TX; Jessica Linda Garza of San Antonio, TX; and Luisana Mia Rummler of Albuquerque, NM; and her 8 cherished grandchildren, who brought her immense pride and happiness. She is preceded in death by her parents, Juan Jose Garza and Mary Helen Garza, and her brother, Johnny Joe Garza Jr., whom she is now reunited with.

A memorial service to honor Carolina’s life will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Daniels Funeral Home, located at 2400 Southern Blvd SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124. 

Though Carolina was taken far too soon, her love, laughter, and fierce spirit will live on through her children, grandchildren, and everyone who was lucky enough to know her. She will be deeply missed and forever loved. While our hearts ache in her absence, we find comfort in our faith, trusting that Carolina is now at peace, reunited with loved ones who went before her, and resting in the arms of the Lord.
