Casimiro F. Vigil, age 60, passed away Friday, February 4, 2022 at his home in Rio Rancho, NM. He was born January 26, 1962 to Adolfo and Florence Vigil in Clayton, NM. He graduated from Del Norte High School, New Mexico Military Institute, and Eastern New Mexico University. He proudly served our country in the United States Army and retired at the rank of Major after 21 years of service. After retiring from the U.S. Army, he worked for Bernalillo County in administration. He was a member of Church of the Incarnation Catholic Church in Rio Rancho and St. Vincent de Paul Society. He married the love of his life, Christina Mota, on May 9, 1987 in El Paso, TX. He loved spending time with his family, traveling and woodwork
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, and various uncles, aunts and first cousins.
Casimiro is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Christina M. Vigil of Rio Rancho; sons, Christian J. Vigil and Cruz E. Vigil of Rio Rancho; parents, Adolfo and Florence Vigil of Albuquerque, NM; sister, Patricia J. Cover of Albuquerque, NM; many nieces, nephews and close cousins of New Mexico and Texas; and his pet dog, Letti.
Recitation of the Rosary is scheduled for 7:00 pm, Tuesday, Feb. 22, Daniels Family Funeral Services - Sara Chapel, 4310 Sara Rd. SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124.
Mass will be held at 9:30 am, March 18, 2022, San Antonio Catholic Church, 503 Hunter Dr., El Paso, TX. Inurnment will follow, with full military honors, at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Casimiro's honor to St. Vincent de Paul of the Church of the Incarnation (in Rio Rancho, NM); and pawsandstripes.org.
