Celina Tafoya

Celina Tafoya was born on January 9th, 1929 and grew up in Bosque New Mexico on a small farm. She was one of nine children to Saturnino and Francisquita Gutierrez. Celina passed away peacefully at her home on March 18, 2023 at the age of 94. She is preceded in death by her late husband David Tafoya in 2014. Celina and David met at the dances in Belen, New Mexico. After David served in the Pacific during World War II, he asked Celina to marry him, they settled in Albuquerque, New Mexico. David and Celina were married for 65 years, raised three children; David Jr, Pamela, and Victor. Celina worked for Kirtland Air Force Base and at Sandia National Laboratories. Celina was a loving grandmother to 5 grandchildren; Jason, Ambrea, Delaina, Lindsay and Kelsey. She was also a great grandmother, Aunt, Sister, friend and mentor who loved everyone around her.
