Charles "Chuck" Leroy Phelps

Charles “Chuck” Leroy Phelps, age 57, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on January 21, 2023. Chuck was born on January 12, 1966 to Charles Sr. and Judy Phelps of Springer, NM.

Chuck graduated from Springer High School in 1984. Chuck served in the Army National Guard for 8 years. He continued his education at New Mexico State University, graduating with a business degree. While attending NMSU, he met his beautiful wife Crystal L Mercer. After graduating from NMSU in 1989, Chuck & Crystal got married on August 12, 1989. They lived in Albuquerque, NM for 33 years; they had three wonderful children and three amazing grandchildren.

 Chuck retired from Lubricar, Inc. as the Vice President of Operations. Chuck had a natural gift of realizing the potential of people and inspiring them to go for their dreams. Always the history buff, Chuck spent his leisure time collecting coins and artifacts from ancient times. Chuck was an avid cyclist who enjoyed the outdoors and loved to Travel. If you knew Chuck, you knew he always had a joke to tell. His greatest love was family. Chuck always felt that family was not only important it was everything.

 His father, Charles L Phelps Sr and nephew, Sean Lowry, predeceased Chuck.

 Chuck is survived by his wife, Crystal; son and spouse, Nicholas and Jennifer; daughter, spouse, and children, Samantha, Adrian, Alec, Brooklynn, and Kyler; son, Brandon; mother, Judy Phelps; sister and spouse, Jeannette and Chris; sister and spouse, Stephanie and John.

At his request, no services will be held at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held in the late Spring/Summer.
