Pink, Cheryl Ann Cheryl Ann Pink passed away August 23, 2011 at her residence in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, at age 66. She was born to Fred and Olevia Simpson, August 20, 1945 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. She is survived by her husband Fred, daughter Krista, son Richard, two grandchildren Kandice and Kanyon Baker and her mother. Mrs. Pink was a woman of many accomplishments; she was a graduate of Midwestern State University and received her masters at Southwest Texas State University. Cheryl worked in economic development for 25 years where she was given several awards for her work. She became the first woman executive for the Wichita Falls Board of Commerce and Industry. Cheryl also took her love for the field to teach and share with young people. She taught Industrial Cooperative Training at Rider High School, Wichita Falls, Texas, Distributive Education at Seguin High School then at New Braunfels High School. For a time, Cheryl taught at Southwestern State University to certify other teachers for ICT and DE. Cheryl then returned to Economic Development, first for the State of Texas, then as an executive for Southwestern Public Service in Amarillo, Silver City, New Mexico and as an aide for Rio Rancho Economic Development. Cheryl worked as the Executive Director for the Rio Rancho Chamber of Commerce. She finished her career wanting to work for a non-profit, retired from Santa Fe Habitat for Humanity as development director. Cheryl Pink was well known for her intelligence, kindness and the love for her family. Cheryl's care has been entrusted to:
