Chester Earl Moeller

July 14, 1944 — November 10, 2025

Pie Town, New Mexico

Chester Earl Moeller was born on July 14, 1944, in Grand Prairie, Tx. and went to Heaven on Nov. 10, 2025.

Chester had to grow up fast, after losing his father at the age of 11. He was raised mainly by his grandparents and uncles. He worked hard most of his life, starting at the age of 16, when he quit school to help with family finances. He later, proudly, received his GED. He joined the Navy when he was 17 and served during the Vietnam era.

After seeing the world, he eventually found his way to N.M. where he met his wife of 53 years, Sandra (he called her Sam or Ma). They were married on April 1, 1972. They always joked, they got fooled because each thought the other had money. But, together, they found the best riches of all, God, family and friends.

Chester worked in construction in Texas, then returned to NM where he worked on ranches, and again in construction and had his own Small Engine Repair and Excavating Business. He also worked at the VLA and was currently working for the Catron County Road Dept. His favorite job was running heavy equipment. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and all things outdoors, especially if it included his sons, Clint, Josh, Ben and Roy.

Chester was a strong, fearless, unique man. He never gave up, he never slowed down, he finished his race. He loved his family, and they loved him. He will dearly be missed.

Chester was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ted.

He is survived by his family, Sandra, Clint, Josh, Ben, Roy, Jackee, Monique, Ethan, Haley, Aidan, Maddy, Ella and Daegan. Sisters - Marylou and Talitha, Brothers-in-law - Jerry Albin and Glen Little, Sisters-in-law - Lola Albin and Ila Albin and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

No services are planned at this time, but we will celebrate Chester in the Spring, somewhere in the mountains (his favorite place to be).

Our family would like to thank the Pie Town medical team and the Catron County Sheriff Dept. for their efforts and respect. Also, many thanks to family and friends for their calls and messages of love and condolence. God Bless you all.
