Cirilio (Lilo, City) Martinez, age 80, lost his battle with cancer on December 21, 2023. He was born on April 11, 1943 in Los Valles de San Augustin, NM. He was a lifelong resident of Las Vegas, NM; was a west Las Vegas Don.
He retired from the University of New Mexico Mental Health Center.
He was also a rancher/farmer all his life doing the job he loved the most; he was also an animal lover.
He was preceded in death by his son, Michael C. Martinez; brother, Gilbert Martinez; parents, Fidel and Rosa Martinez.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Marcella Martinez; daughters: Mary Rose (Ron), Myra (Johnny), Melissa (Juan), Berta Martinez; grandchildren: Marcus, Jessica, Mark, Michael Jr., Monique, Johnny, Esperanza, Patrick, Angelica; great grandchildren: Shea Marie, Rylynn, Elias, Fabien, Faith, Diamond; siblings: Eva Gonzales, Lorenzo (Annabelle), Armando Martinez, Edward Martinez; very special niece, Loretta Gonzales (Archie); very, special goddaughter, Bernadette Griego (Ruben); special cousins: Rosendo Gonzales (Clara), Mary Lueli (Leonard); numerous nieces and nephews, godchildren. He cherished all of his family.
A Rosary will be recited Friday, January 5, 2024 at 4:00 PM, at Daniels Family Funeral Services, 3113 Carlisle Blvd NE, Carlisle Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM.
