Clara R. Gabaldon

June 29, 1928 — May 17, 2022

Clara Rivera Gabaldon passed away on May 17, 2022, at the age of 93. She was born on June 29, 1928 in Peña Blanca, NM, and raised in Belen, NM. Once married she moved to Albuquerque, NM where she raised her family.

Clara worked as a cosmetologist for over 30 years. She had a Monday night tradition of having her family over for beans and chili along with homemade tortillas or sopapillas. One of her favorite pastimes was to spend weeks at her second home in Elephant Butte, where she and her family would spend time relaxing on the lake. She was an avid reader and loved Danielle Steel novels.

Clara was proceeded in death by her husband, Tony Gabaldon and her daughter Linda Ward-Hersee.

She leaves behind her other children Geral (John) DeBoo, Diane (Vern) Barela, Karl Gabaldon and her brother Rambert Rivera. She also leaves behind six grandchildren, Shawn DeBoo, Alicia Espinosa, Kris DeBoo, Monique Bischoff, Brian Ward-Hersee and Brandon Ward-Hersee. She also leaves thirteen great-grandchildren, Daniel Kennedy, Jalea DeBoo, Taylor DeBoo, Aiden DeBoo, Emily DeBoo, Nicolas DeBoo, Ashton Bischoff, Caiden Bischoff, Bregan Espinosa, Grayson Espinosa, Camden Espinosa, Bryson Ward-Hersee and Brayden Ward-Hersee.

Clara’s Celebration of Life will be held on June 29, 2022 at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. The Daniels Family has been trusted to handle services.
