Clara Rose Meyer (Maestas). October 14, 1946 – September 4, 2026, Clara Rose Meyer, 79, born October 14, 1946, in Contra Costa County, Pittsburg, California and was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away peacefully surrounded by her family after a courageous battle from lung and bone cancer. She was welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven on Friday, September 4, 2026.Clara is preceded in death by her beloved parents Herman Maestas and Neyda (Garcia) Maestas, beloved brother George L. Maestas, and grandson Joshua P. Aragon. Clara is survived by her devoted husband of 35 years Gregory Meyer, and her 3 daughters Renee Cisneros, Dena (Nadine) Wisdom and husband Mark, Irene Sadler and husband Marlon along with 10 grandchildren Stephanie Cavalier and husband Omar, Alicia and Husband Phillip Ortega, Andrew Pino, Jolene Chacon, Geoffrey Hutton, Alexis Romero, Nikki Baca, Clarissa Baca, Kaihre Brightwater, and Abbey Sadler and 4 great grandchildren Isabel Cavalier, James Cavalier, Miles Cavalier, and Elijah Pino. She is also survived by 7 siblings Tom Maestas, Michael Maestas, Theresa Simoes and husband Anthony, Robert Maestas and wife Susan, Janet Jensen, Mary (Mimi) Haughteling, Grace Sample, cherished aunt Laura Martinez and many special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Clara graduated from Valley High School Class of 1965 and went on to serve her country in the United States Army Reserves as a sergeant, receiving the Army Achievement Medal in 1987. Clara served from 1979 - 1988 with a Honorable Discharge. Clara continued her career as an Administration Specialist with the University of New Mexico and later at the Albuquerque Academy until her retirement in 2011.Clara was a kind, generous, and empathetic person with a big heart. Her greatest joy was being around her daughters and her beloved furry animals Meow, Meow, Pancake and Obey. Her love of cooking, sewing, dancing and her funny stories of her time in the Army Reserves will always be remembered. Clara will be greatly missed by her loving family and those whose lives she touched.The Cisneros, Wisdom and Sadler family would like to offer a special “Thank You,” to High Desert Hospice team and support staff for all their hard work and loving care for our dear mother, you have been a blessing.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Daniels Funeral Home on Wyoming.A celebration of life will be held at Daniels Funeral Home 7601 Wyoming Blvd, NE Albuquerque, New Mexico on Thursday, October 1, 2026 at 11 am with Chaplain Lawrence Saavedra presiding, followed by a catered reception.Final resting place and burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Park (Pueblo Esperanza Plaza) 924 Menaul Blvd. NE Albuquerque, New Mexico, on Friday, October 2, 2026 at 11am for family and friends who wish to attend.
