Clyde Wayne Reneau

January 4, 1922 — July 2, 2009

Wayne Reneau 87, passed away peacefully at Beehive Homes in Farmington, on Thursday July 2. He was born January 4, 1922, in Oklahoma City, OK to Clarence Clyde Reneau and Nona Mary Weiser Renueau. Wayne served in the military during WWII and retired from the Naval Reserves in 1982. He attended Oklahoma University where he received his BS and MA degrees in Education. He married Eleanor Fay Griggs in 1946. They moved to Carlsbad 1955 and Wayne worked as a teacher and guidance counselor for Carlsbad Municipal Schools for 28 years. He and Eleanor were active in the choir at First United Methodist Church. Wayne was a member of SPEBSQSA and sang in numerous barbershop quartetrs. In 1993, they moved to El Paso, TX until Eleanor's death in 1995. They were married 50 years. Wayne is survived by his twin sister, Elaine White of Texas, a son Kenneth Reneau and wife Diana of Austin, TX, a daughter, Carol Rhodes and husband Gary of Farmington, 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
