Conception (Connie) Cora Schleft

Concepcion C. Schleft, also known as Connie, 79, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2022, in Harker Heights, TX. Connie was the youngest of seven children, born July 25, 1942, to Albino and Juanita Gallegos in Albuquerque, NM, where she spent most of her life.  She was a loving wife and mother who spent her life providing a loving home for her beloved husband and four children. 

Connie supported her husband of 54 years in his military career and later supported him in his career advances, sharing four children and a lifetime of love. The family legacy includes the four children, Bill (Daphne) of Los Alamos, NM, Vicky (Chris) of Harker Heights, TX, Joe, Las Cruces, NM and Jason, Harker Heights, TX;  five grandchildren listed by age, Brandon (Taylor) of Los Alamos, NM,  Ryan (Leslie) of Los Alamos, NM,  Megan in Harker Heights, TX, Lauren of Los Alamos, NM and Mckenna of Harker Heights, TX;  three great children, Leah, Sydney and Ava all in Los Alamos, NM.  The legacy will continue with two more great grandchildren arriving in June 2022.

Connie joined her parents, her siblings, and her loving husband, Bill who passed away in May of 2019, in heaven to enjoy eternal life. She is survived by many special and loved nieces and nephews who remember her with love.

In the later years of their marriage, Connie and Bill enjoyed participating in the Special Olympics enjoying coaching and supporting the local athletes in sporting events and activities, enjoying the time with family and good friends.

Connie was happiest when she was at home with her husband Bill and Jason watering her flowers and taking care of her home. She will be missed every day and cherished in our hearts forever.
