Crystal Gene

Gene died June 17, 2010, in Albuquerque. She was born Sept. 15, 1987, in Fort Defiance, into the Water Edge People Clan for the Charcoal Streaked Division of the Red Running into the Water People Clan. Gene graduated from Window Rock High School. She loved listening to music, driving her mother around and playing with her kids. She enjoyed bring around her family and friends. Survivors include her husband, Virgil Tapaha; daughters, Bethany, Shayleen, Charmaine Tapaha, all of Houck; mother, Laura Brown-Gene of Houck; brother, Roland Gene of Window Rock; sisters, Jaselynn Davidson of Window Rock, Veronica Brown of Navajo, Amanda Wood of Crystal, Deborra Griggs of Whiteriver, Courtney Gene of Houck. Gene was preceded in death by her father, Gary Gene; grandparents, Charlie and Helen Brown. Pallbearers will be Virgil Tapaha, Roland Gene, Ramsey Davidson Jr., Jackie Long, Cameron Jones, Michael Jones.
