Funeral services for Daisy J. Willie, 66, will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 28, at Rehoboth Christian Reformed Church, Rehoboth. Evanglist Art Williams will officiate. Burial will be in family cemetery, Two Grey Hills. Willie died Sept. 22, 2010, in Sundance. She was born Feb. 27, 1944, in Two Grey Hills, into the Bitter Water People Clan for the Mexican People Clan. Willie graduated from Wingate High School. She lived and worked in Denver, Colo. for 12 years. She then worked and lived in Gallup, retiring from Rehoboth Christian School in 2007. She enjoyed selling her famous homemade burritos and blue mush at Gallup Flea Market, going to revivals, traveling and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her hobbies included traditional Two Grey Hills rug weaving, doing other arts and crafts, doing word search, crossword puzzles and reading her bible. Survivors include her sons, Casey Willie of Sundance Coal Mine Road; daughters, Thelma Yazzie of Albuquerque, Cassandra Willie of Sundance Coal Mine Road, Carmelita Willie of Albuquerque, Colandra Willie of Albuquerque, Amanda Willie of Albuquerque; brothers, Bennie Yazzie Sr. of Two Grey Hills, Leonard Yazzie of Two Grey Hills, Phillip Yazzie of Shiprock, Dennis Yazzie of Towaoc, Colo.; sisters, Bessie Yazzie, Betty Yazzie, both of Two Grey Hills; eight grandchildren. Willie was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Willie; parents, John and Mary J. Yazzie; grandmother, Mary Shorty; sister, Minnie J. Yazzie. Pallbearers wil be Thelma Yazzie, Cassandra Willie, Casey Willie, Carmelita Willie, Colandra Willie, Amanda Willie.
