Dale P . "Uncle Lalo" Nunez Sr

Nunez Sr., Dale P. 53, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at his home in Polvadera, NM surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Socorro, NM on March 12, 1960 to Frank B. and Hazel R. (Freeman) Nunez. Dale graduated from Socorro High School in 1978 and immediately joined the Army and was stationed in Germany. Dale was a very hard working and a devoted family man. He was very well liked and respected by everyone that knew him. He never met a stranger and could carry on a conservation with anyone. Dale worked at Dicapearl in Socorro for 27 years. He was a special person who will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Dale P. Nunez Jr.; his daughter, Laverne Marie Nunez; and his sister, Laverne Trejo. Dale is survived by his loving wife, Bettilou Kelly Nunez; his daughter, Yolanda Kelly and companion, Ruben Baca; his grandchildren, Deseray Edwards, Kevin Edwards and Nathaniel Nunez. Dale or better known as Uncle "Lalo", will also be greatly missed by his nephews, Lonnie Gonzales and wife, Kim; and Dion Gonzales and wife, Daisy; his nieces, Brenda Gonzales and husband, Miguel; Lena Chavez and husband, Louie; and Michele Baca and her son, Michael Baca and many other nieces and nephews. A Holy Rosary will be recited on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 10:00 am at the San Miguel Catholic Church, 403 El Camino Real, Socorro, NM followed by a Mass of Resurrection which will be celebrated at 10:30 am with Father Flavio Santillanes as Celebrant. Interment will take place in the Polvadera Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joey Griego, Jerry Griego, Lonnie Gonzales, and Dion Gonzales.
