Damacio Arturo Gutierrez

GUTIERREZ - Damacio Arturo 85, passed away peacefully Friday, November 18, 2011. He was born on July 22, 1926 to Damacio and Esther (Gonzalez) Gutierrez, in Lemitar, NM. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Selfa Gutierrez, his son, Frankie Gutierrez, and his daughter, Betty Gutierrez. Damacio was a resident of Socorro. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army. Damacio loved driving around town and he visited the cemetery faithfully every day. Damacio is survived by his sons, Eddie Gutierrez, Leroy Gutierrez and wife, Christine, and Damacio Gutierrez all of Lemitar; his daughters, Esther Romero of Belen, NM and Berlinda Armijo of Albuquerque, NM; his sister,Viola Carrejo and his brother, Hilario Gutierrez both of Albuquerque; 22 loving grandchildren, and 23 great grandchildren. A Rosary was recited on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at 7:00 PM at San Miguel Catholic Church. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at 9:00 AM at San Miguel Catholic Church with Father Andrew Pavlak as Celebrant. Interment will take place in the Lemitar Cemetery. Pallbearers are Andres Gutierrez, Kenny Romero, Dustin Romero, Rudy Gutierrez, Ethan Gutierrez, Uriah Armijo, Leroy Gutierrez, Tony Garza, Christopher Gutierrez, Marcial Gutierrez, Julio Gutierrez, and Jacob Gutierrez.
