Daniel Jonathan Juckette, beloved husband, son, father, brother, and friend, passed away on July 14, 2024, in Rio Rancho, NM. He was born on September 14, 1947, in Corrales, where he lived most of his life on his family’s homestead.
Daniel led a fulfilling career dedicated to healthcare. Some highlights of his career were serving as an RN Case Manager at Roadrunner Healthcare, an RN Clinical Consultant at Vic the Picc Vascular Access Service Provider, was the former co-founder and COO of Vaspro, and had previously worked as a House Supervisor at Lovelace Westside. His passion for helping others shone through in his work every day.
He graduated from Valley High School in 1965 and went on to study History and Philosophy at Eastern NM University in 1966. In the 1980s, he obtained his RN degree from Central New Mexico Community College.
Beyond his professional life, Daniel was a man of many interests. He found joy in crafting, as the owner of Lodestone Creations Handcrafted Woodwork and Jewelry. He was a history enthusiast and was the keeper of our family genealogy. He was a charmer, a storyteller and loved adventures. He appreciated the journey as much as the destination. His adventures in life became the narratives he would share with family, friends and strangers. His wife Jeanie was his steadfast traveling companion. Together they enjoyed the food, collected artwork, and appreciated the cultures of the many places they visited.
He lived by the mantra that "Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning how to dance in the rain." Inspired by the music of the Beatles, he believed that "In the end, the love we take is equal to the love we make," and found solace in knowing that "not all those who wander are lost" - a sentiment borrowed from Bilbo Baggins.
Daniel is survived by his daughters Diane Hamlett of Fairbanks, AK; Kinikinnik (Nikki) Juckette and Eowyn Simons of Albuquerque, NM; Brandwyn (Brandy) Stebbins of Lebanon, ME. His spirit lives on through his grandchildren: Jacob Martin, Samuel Martin, Isaac Martin; Catherine (Bizzy) Erving; Giles Stebbins, Trinna Stebbins; Aiden Simons, Perrin Simons; as well as his great-grandchildren: Lyam Erving, Alita Stebbgins, Sydney Stebbins.
