Daniel Lele Maestas

MAESTAS - Daniel Lele Maestas, age 37, beloved father, son, brother, uncle, and grandson, was called to his heavenly home by the Lord, Saturday, November 20, 2010. He was born in Farmington, NM and was a resident of La Jara, NM. Lele was a teacher and a coach at Espanola Valley High School. He graduated from NMSU in 2001, where he received his Bachelors Degree in Physical Education. He enjoyed working on the ranch, fishing, gardening and carpentry. Lele was a loving dad, devoted son, compassionate brother, loving uncle, loyal friend and a dedicated coach and teacher. Lele is survived by his precious son, Randy Maestas; his loving parents, Milton and Viola Maestas; his brothers and sisters, Willie Maestas and Tillie Lyons, Caroline Lovato and husband Augustine, Jared Maestas and wife Anita, Christopher and Roland Maestas; Godson and nephew, Augustine S. Lovato; other nephews and nieces, Isaiah Montoya, Kassidy Lovato, Angelica, Liliana, and Marshall Maestas; paternal grandfather, Guillermo Maestas; other numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends. Lele will be greatly missed by all. Visitations will be Friday, November 26, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cuba, NM, where a rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, November 27, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church. Interment will follow at Santo Nino Catholic Cemetery in La Jara, NM. Casket Bearers will be Jim Eaton, Randy Velasquez, James Casaus, Dereck Padilla, Dominic Crespin, Jeff Rodriguez, and Augustine S. Lovato. Honorary Bearers will be Daniel Armijo, Jacob Gutierrez, Jonathan Cordova, Richard Lovato, and Sophie Eaton.
