Daniel J. Thielen

Daniel Joseph Thielen, 68, a long-time resident of Albuquerque, born and raised in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on November 26th after a courageous battle with cancer. Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Ambrose and Agnes Thielen; siblings, Joan, Marjorie, Geraldine, David and George; brother-in-law Chet; father-in law, Orlando Quintana.  Dan was a Army Veteran during the Vietnam War.  He retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 37 years of service.  Dan was a devout family man and devout Catholic.  Dan was an avid golf player, he loved golfing with his sons, his brother Larry, nephews and friends.  Dan was a gentle soul who was loved by everyone he came in contact with.  He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.  Dan is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Geraldine; sons, Nathan and Jordan; daughter-in-law, Brittany; granddaughter, Matilda Jean; siblings, Sister Ann, Paul (Michelle) and Larry (Pat); sister-in-law Loretta; mother-in-law, Matilde Quintana; sisters-in-law, Jo-Ann Romero (David), Roberta Martinez (Harold), and Christine Garcia (Toby) and many nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. A special thanks to Dr. Brea Bond, Evelyn Perea. A Rosary will recited at 6:00 pm on Monday, December 3, 2018 at Daniels Family Funeral Services, 7601 Wyoming Blvd NE. A Mass will be held at 9:30 am on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at Risen Savior Catholic Church, 7701 Wyoming Blvd NE. Interment will take place at 1:30 pm at Santa Fe National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be given in Daniel's honor to Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation www.themmrf.org
