Daryl Shawn Hansen, 57, passed away on July 9, 2026. He was born on September 29, 1968, in Springerville, Arizona.

Daryl spent many years working as a skilled heavy equipment operator, a profession that reflected his ability to tackle difficult work with experience and determination.

Anyone who knew Daryl knew he had an incredible wit. He possessed a sharp sense of humor and a quick comeback that could make almost anyone laugh. Even during difficult times, he had a way of bringing a smile to those around him. His humor was one of the qualities that family and friends will remember most.

Daryl was preceded in death by his brother, Coy Hansen; his paternal grandparents, Wayne and Juanita Hansen; and his maternal grandparents, Tom and Marvis Bates.

He is survived by his parents, David W. Hansen; Jane Burnett; and Kim Kalberg; his siblings, Clint Hansen, Clay Hansen, Justin Burnett, Jeff Burnett, and Carrie Moyer; along with extended family members and friends who will remember him in their own special ways.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Quemado Cemetery in Quemado, New Mexico. A lunch and time of fellowship will follow the service.

Though Daryl's path through life was not always an easy one, he will be remembered for the laughter he shared, the smiles he inspired, and the memories that remain with those who knew and loved him. May he now find the peace that eluded him during much of his life.
