David Earl Day

David Earl Day, a resident of Cedar Crest, NM since 2021, and longtime resident of Albuquerque, NM, passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2023.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn “Diane” Etheredge Day of Cedar Crest NM; daughter, Pamela J Cherry and husband Alan of Cedar Crest, NM; son, David “Brett” Day and wife Barbara of Rio Rancho, NM; son, James “Darryl” Day and wife Beth of Edgewood, NM; and daughter, Mary Ann Fernandez and husband Francisco of Albuquerque, NM.  He was also survived by 11 Grandchildren: Cody Day, Cory Day, Tyler Cherry and wife Shaylynn, Ashley Merrell and husband Jason, Megan Fowler and husband Josh, Kaycee Cherry, Ryan Day, Tobias Fernandez, Benjamin Fernandez, Evelyn Fernandez, Riley Merrell and 2 Great Grandchildren, Addy Merrell and Cassian Day.  

David was preceded in death by his mother, Nolie Barnes Brown, father, Theodore Brown, brother, Jack E. Day, brother, Herman F. Day and sister, Anne Greenwald, and infant son, Stephan Turner Day.

David was born and raised in Alabama; he served 4 years in the Air Force.  He was a loving, faithful husband and father.  His grandchildren and great grandchildren brought him much joy.  He enjoyed Alabama Football, Elvis’s music, fishing and the Gulf Coast.  He was saved by grace in 1969, loved the Lord and is now in the presence of his Savior.  We will miss him very much. 

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 6, 2023; 11:30 a.m. at Daniels – Sara Chapel, 4310 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, NM. Interment will follow at Vista Verde Memorial Park.  

Pallbearers are Jason Merrell, Ryan Day, Tyler Cherry, Alan Cherry, Francisco Fernandez, and Benjamin Fernandez
