Delbert Allan Bainter Delbert Allan Bainter, 57, died on Monday, October 4, 2010 in Phoenix, AZ from a lengthy illness. Allan was born March 13, 1953 in Farmington. He lived in Gallup and Missouri before moving to Durango, Colorado in 1966. Allan was active in high school sports and choir. He graduated from Durango High School in 1971 and enlisted in the US Navy in July 1971. He served aboard the USS Paul Revere, the USS Dubuque and the USS Leader. He was a Vietnam veteran. He met his wife, Patricia (Birket) in high school and they began dating in 1973, married in 1974 and moved to Farmington in 1977. Allan was active in local youth activities. He officiated in high school and junior high school football for 25 years. He umpired the Connie Mack World Series. Allan scheduled and trained umpires for summer league ball and umpired high school baseball. He was assistant director of the Farmington Boys and Girls Club and coached teams in all leagues of Farmington baseball. His favorite coaching accomplishment was the Heights Junior High 8th grade football team which he managed for two years. Allan was a salesman for many of the oilfield service companies in Farmington. Mr. Bainter is survived by his wife of 36 years, Patricia of Mesa, Arizona; sons, Jason of Mesa, AZ and Michael and wife, Kimberlee of Las Vegas, NV; his two precious grandchildren, Trisha and Miles; his mother, Bille Yeager (Ron); brother, Ronnie (Lori) of Aztec, sisters, Connie Shea (Dan) of Joplin, Missouri; Bonnie of Houston, Texas and Sandy of Mancos, Colorado; half-brother Jerry of Thornton, Colorado; aunt, Drucille Hanley and uncle, Jack Whitson, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Aunt Clara and Uncle Bill Templeton, Uncle George Whitson, and father-in-law, Bill Birket. Funeral Services for Allan will be held at Bethany Christian Church on Friday, October 15, at 1:00 pm. Burial will be at Greenmount Cemetery in Durango, Colorado with military honors. Pallbearers are: Charley Tyler, Robert Posey, Don Chitty, Bennie Armenta, Pat Roark and Tim Lane. Allan’s care has been entrusted to:
