Delbert LeRoy Pulliam

March 29, 1934 — January 3, 2024

Albuquerque

Delbert LeRoy Pulliam, beloved husband, farther, uncle pee wee, papa and friend to many, passed away on January 3, 2024, at home with family in Albuquerque NM. Delbert was born to Joseph and Willie Mae Pulliam on March 29, 1934, in Springer NM. Delbert is survived by his three children; Dorinda Pulliam, Patricia Hannam and spouse Jim, and Robnett Pulliam and Spouse Lisa, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Delbert was also a brother of the Operating Engineers Local 953.

Delbert’s wife Nancy meant everything to him and was married to her for 64 years. They traveled New Mexico together in their journeys for work and leisure. These two were inseparable and the good Lord took her in 2021. A part of him lost interest in life after her passing. Where there was Delbert there was Nancy right by his side, whether it be going to the post office, grocery store, doctor’s office, or family gatherings they were never apart. Their love was unconditional and not common these days. He had his family and friends and loved them very much, but it was not the same. You could always sense the sadness and void he felt. It brings happiness to all that they are now reunited with the Lord.

Another thing to acknowledge about Delbert was his work ethic. The man was not scared of work and was well respected for his contribution to the operating engineers. He brought much contribution to the state of New Mexico that many may not realize from helping with the construction of the University Lobo Pit, construction of buildings and bridges throughout the state of New Mexico. He loved to share his stories. He was also proud of his son and grandsons that followed in his trade.

Delbert LeRoy Pulliam will be remembered by many for his love, kindness, values, and memories.
