Delfido “Delfy” F. Anaya passed away in Rio Rancho, New Mexico on December 22, 2020 at the age of 77.
Delfido is survived by his son, Jeffrey Anaya (Robin) of Chicago, Illinois; daughter, Carla Anay Elenz (Mike) of Ohio; sister, Gloria Spears (Alvin) of Albuquerque, New Mexico; brother, Victor Anaya (Anna) of Albuquerque, New Mexico; nephew, Joe Jeff Martinez (Fran) of Albuquerque, New Mexico; step daughters, Janalle Franco of Albuquerque, New Mexico; JoLynne McDaniel (Dexter) of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; Lori Collins (Bobby) of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; compadre, Lacho Martinez (Diane) of Santa Fe, New Mexico; seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, Pelagio Anaya; his mother, Stella Anaya; and his sisters, Maida A. Gomez and Elizabeth (Belle) Martinez.
Delfido was born on March 6, 1943 in Santa Rosa, New Mexico to Pelagio and Stella Anaya. He graduated from Santa Rosa High School in 1962. He married Linda Montoya on June 26, 1987 in Santa Fe, New Mexico for 30 years. He worked at Los Alamos National Labs for 30 years and Local 495 for 40 years.
He loved playing basketball and football for Santa Rosa. His favorite hobbies were fishing, welding and watching the Dallas Cowboys play. He was a member of the Church of the Incarnation in Rio Rancho and part of the Local 495 Union.
A mass and burial will be held in Santa Rosa, New Mexico in late spring or early summer
