Dennis F. Dawes has gone home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at sunset on Thursday, April 25th, 2019 at the age of 78. He is now reunited with his parents John E. and Phyllis Dawes, brother John P. Dawes, nephew Andrew Dawes, and granddaughter Danielle Dawes. He is survived by his wife Karen Dawes, son Tim Dawes and wife Jessica, daughter Rebecca (Dawes) Talamantes and husband Cruz, and son Daniel Dawes and wife Chantelle with a combined total of 12 grandchildren. Dennis was born on February 22nd, 1941 in Sharon, PA. He resided in Greenville, PA with his family since 1974 and worked as a grade school teacher in his younger years, assisted his father and brother with J.E. Dawes Lumber Co. and then drove a charter tour bus for 25 years with Anderson Bus & Tour. Dennis then moved along with his wife to Albuquerque, NM in 2006 to join their children and family there. Dennis was passionate about reading, travelling, teaching, billiards and photography. He loved the Lord and strived to be a seeker of truth in all that he did and was a hard worker with a generous heart to all and he always made an immediate impact on everyone he met. He will be missed dearly by all and his family would like to thank the staff of Elan Santa Monica, Presbyterian Kaseman Oncology, Fresenius Kidney Care, and Compassus palliative and hospice care for all of their tireless dedication to Dennis' excellent care. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 3rd, 2019 at Daniel's Family Funerals & Cremation, 7601 Wyoming Blvd. with a reception luncheon to follow at 12:00 p.m. at Albuquerque Meadows clubhouse, 7112 Pan American Fwy. Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. at Vista Verde Memorial Park, 4310 Sara Rd. in Rio Rancho, NM.
