Diann J. Gonzales

Diann Joyce Gonzales, age 70 of Española, NM, passed peacefully after a battle with cancer on Friday, September 7, 2018, surrounded by her family in Rio Rancho, NM.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Fred Gonzales, her daughters, Arlene Pies, Amy Gonzales, and Elizabeth Gonzales, her son-in-law, Garrin Pies, her grandsons, Daniel & Justin Pies, her sister and brother-in-law, Joann & Frank Padilla, and many other loving friends and relatives. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ignacio and Loyola Carbajal, and her brother, Joseph Carbajal.

Diann loved going to the casino with her husband. She also liked going to the movies and reading. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her two grandsons. She liked to visit her family in Washington so she could be closer to the ocean. She was very loving and giving, and she was always proud of the accomplishments of her loved ones. Diann always approached life with a sense of humor and appreciation for the good that she has. She was a simple, strong woman who taught her family many valuable life lessons.

A rosary will be celebrated Thursday September 13, 2018 at 3:30 pm with a mass following at 4:00 pm at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church located at 5712 Paradise Blvd. NW, Albuquerque , NM 87114. A reception will be celebrated immediately after at Haynes Park in Rio Rancho.
