Donald “Pete” Harmon, 72, of Aztec, went to be with his heavenly father on November 9, 2010. Pete was born in Lansing, Michigan, the only son of Clifford and Nellie Harmon. The most important thing in Pete’s life was his family. He enjoyed traveling, building, going to the casino and hunting. Pete had a love for teaching not only his family and friends but Pete also taught at San Juan College for 16 years earning his professor’s degree in diesel mechanics before retiring. After retirement he spent his years doing the things he enjoyed, most time you could find him tinkering in his shop. Pete was preceded in death by Judy Harmon his wife of 41 years; his mother, Nellie Harmon and his father, Clifford Harmon. Pete is survived by his partner and soul mate, Wanda Gill; his daughters, Stacy (Bob) Daily of Aztec, Robbin Swanton of Aztec, Kim (David) Joiner of Blanco, and Tammie Harmon of Aztec; sister, Donna (Richard) Foster of Michigan. He had 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Bob Schlauger will be officiating the memorial service. Inurnment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Farmington.
