Donaldo �Don� Ortega, a 35 year resident of Albuquerque, NM, passed away on March 19, 2013. A Rosary and Eulogy will be held at 10.00am immediately followed by a memorial mass at 11.00am on Monday March 25th at the Arroyo Hondo Catholic Church in Arroyo Hondo NM. A luncheon for family and friends will be held in Arroyo Seco, NM immediately following the mass. Burial will take place at The National Cemetery in Santa Fe on Wednesday, March 27th at 12.45pm. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Daniels Family Funeral Services. Don was born in Dixon, NM on September 3, 1935 and grew up in Arroyo Hondo, NM. He graduated from Taos High School and joined the Air Force in 1954. Don was married to Yoko on November 14, 1958. They were married 54 years and had two children, Anna & David. Don was a Vietnam Veteran serving for over 23 years in the U.S. Air Force before retiring honorably in 1977. He continued to work for the Federal Government retiring from the civil service in 2000. Don enjoyed travelling, watching sports and playing golf. Don is survived by his wife Yoko, a resident of Albuquerque and his daughter Anna, who resides in London, UK with her husband Patrick. In addition Don is survived by six brothers: Moises, Bito, Sam, Leonardo, Carlos, and Enoch all of Taos, except Sam who resides in Albuquerque and one sister, Bella Archuleta who resides in Greenfield, CA. Don is preceded in death by David P. Ortega (son), Samuel Ortega (father), Gregorita Ortega (mother), Sofio Ortega (brother).
