Dora Garcia Torres

Dora Garcia Torres, age 85,  passed away on July 21, 2023, from ongoing health issues.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, Bernice, and Ignacio Garcia; brothers Jimmy Garcia, Ray Garcia and Eddie Garcia; husband Fidel W. Torres; sons Alfred Torres and Leonard Torres Sr.

She is survived by 3 sisters, Lillie, Frieda, and Mary Lou; and brother Sammie.  2 sons Ambrose P. Torres and wife Bella, Arthur Torres, and wife Valerie; 6 grandchildren, Zenaida Colmenero and husband Jesus, AJ Torres, Merissa Torres, and partner Adrianna, Jynel Torres Montemorano and husband Anthony, Leonard Torres Jr., and Paul Torres along with 9 great grandchildren and many other family members.

Dora briefly worked as a nurse, but later became a full-time homemaker and focused on caring for her family.

She loved to cook, crochet, and tend to her garden.  She will be remembered for her beautiful heart and her strong-willed personality.  Memories of her bringing the family together for the holidays and her knack for cooking won’t be forgotten.  She was known for her famous tamales, red chili, and menudo.  She will be greatly missed.
