Doris Maude Neuenschwander

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend Doris M. Neuenschwander, 97, of San Juan County since 1958 passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at her home. Doris was born December 16, 1914 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana the daughter of Oscar Miller and Elenor (Putt) Miller. Doris was a true angel and has received here crown of gold in heaven. She loved helping other people and especially her family. Doris had a deep and abiding faith in God and walked with faith throughout her life. She was a member of the old Free Methodist Church of Farmington for many years. Her church and her faith were the most important thing to her. Doris worked for several years as a bookkeeper and really enjoyed working. She had a passion for and enjoyed all sports and especially basketball. Doris especially loved Larry Byrd and her grandson, Isaiah Sanchez Piedra Vista��?�s All-star basketball player too. She watched as many games of his as she could. Among her many sayings were one saying "heavenly days! She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. Doris is survived by her children son Dave Neuenschwander and wife Marka of Farmington, daughter Janeanne Garcia (Bodine Jones) of Bloomfield, son Steve Neuenschwander and wife Rosemary of Chandler, Arizona and daughter Kathy Salazar of Bloomfield; 21 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and many dear friends. Doris was preceded in death by her husband Edison Neuenschwander, son Victor Neuenschwander, daughter Rosalie Sanchez 2 grandsons Bill Neuenschwander and Pat Lynch, 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 East Ute St. on Saturday, October 15. Funeral services will follow at Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2011 with Chris Neuenschwander and Tom Lynch officiating. Doris will then be taken to Memory Gardens Cemetery to be buried alongside her husband. Pallbearers are Pete Salazar, Stephen Sanchez, Chris Neuenschwander, Charles Lynch, Isaiah Sanchez, Larry Neuenschwander and Phillip Salazar. Honorary pallbearers will be all Doris��?� grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to all relatives and friends who were so kind and supportive during this time. Your kindness will always be remembered.
