Dorothy Lorraine Gitzlaff

Mrs. Dorothy Lorraine (Zingen) Gitzlaff passed away peacefully in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on August 9th, 2022, at the age of 94 years old.

Dorothy is survived by her son Douglas and his wife Sharon Gitzlaff of Corrales, New Mexico, her son James Gitzlaff of Amargosa Valley, Nevada, and by grandson Eric Gitzlaff of Portland, Oregon. Dorothy is preceded in death by her loving husband Richard Gitzlaff who passed in November of 2021, and by her brother Andy Zingen.

Dorothy was born to Pauline (Denk) Zingen and Andrew Zingen in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on Sunday, February 5th, 1928. She attended grade school through 8th grade in Butternut, WI. Dorothy married Richard Gitzlaff on Friday, February 9th, 1951, in Milwaukee, WI. They were married for 70 years and had two sons.

Dorothy was a home maker and worked at Master Lock for a time in the early 50s. A special interest of Dorothy’s was bowling. Dorothy bowled until age 91.
