On Thursday, October 22, 2020, Dorothy Ann Lucero got her wings and returned home to the Lord, surrounded by her loving family. She was 71 years old.

Dorothy was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on January 10, 1949 to Alejandro and Mary Minero. She married the love of her life Jerry Lucero on June 4, 1966 and raised two sons, Joseph and Jeremy. She received a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Phoenix and enjoyed many different professions before finding her home at Sandia National Labs. She retired in 2017, and in retirement enjoyed spending time with friends and family and taking trips with Jerry.

Dorothy had a passion for service to her community and to God. She was an active member of Queen of Heaven Church and the Catholic Daughters. She enjoyed serving in the mass and doing various activities with the organization. She also volunteered at Presbyterian Hospital helping the minister console families of those that passed. Dorothy will be remembered most for her giving nature and her caring heart.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her mother and father, Alex and Mary Minero, her brother George Minero, and daughter in law Debbie Lucero. She is survived by her loving husband, Jerry Lucero, her children: Joseph Lucero and Jeremy & Alisa Lucero, her grandchildren: Isabelle and Damian Lucero; her brothers: Alex Jr and family, Joey and family, and the family George Minero; and her sisters: Rosemary and family, and Linda and family; as well as may cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Rosary to be held on Monday, November 2, 2020 at 1PM at Daniels Family Funeral Home located on 3113 Carlisle Blvd NE, 87110. Due to COVID -19 and state restrictions, there will be a limit of 65 guests allowed in the service. A reception will be held at the Lucero residence following rosary. Once restrictions are lifted, a church service will be scheduled.
