Douglas Dale Lenberg age 86 passed away on November 11, 2018 on Veteran’s Day. He was born in Staples Minnesota on April 11, 1932. It was fitting he died on Veteran’s day since he was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He retired from the Air Force in 1970 after serving more than 20 years. After his military retirement, he served as the postmaster in Alamosa , CO, and eventually retired from the postal service. Douglas was living at the New Mexico State Veteran’s Home in Truth or Consequences, NM, at the time of his death.
Douglas is survived by his eight children, Douglas Lenberg Jr. (Sylvia), Robert Lenberg (Lori), Geri Barringer, Jeff Lenberg (Dana), Sandra Lenberg, Laura Lenberg, Greg Lenberg (Virginia), and Tim Lenberg (Jacque). He is also survived by his three brothers Junior, Chucky, and Tom (Greg). He is survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Albin Lenberg and step-mother Golda, mother Winnie Aubrey and step-father Roy, his brother Robert Lenberg and sister-in-law Hazel, and his sister Geraldine Lenberg.
His viewing will be Saturday, November 17, at 10:00 am at Daniel’s Family Funeral Home at 4310 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, NM, immediately followed by his funeral service at 11:00 am and burial at 12:00 pm.
