Dr. Winston Crabb

Dr. Winston Crabb, age 74, passed away unexpectedly at his home on September 30, 2017 in Rio Rancho, NM. Winston was born on May 15, 1943 in Waukgan, Illinois to Wilfred and Leona Crabb. He lived in Billings, Montana and graduated from Billings High School. Winston attended Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois for two years and then Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, Illinois; graduating in 1967 with his medical degree. He and Millie Crabb were married in 1965 and shared 53 years together.

Winston was preceded in death by both of his parents and a sister, Beverly Bain, of Bozeman, MT. He is survived by his wife, Millie, of Rio Rancho, NM and three children. They are; a son Wesley and Jenna, of Albuquerque, NM; and daughter Laura Crabb of Lincoln, NE and son, Willliam and Cori of Lincoln, NE. Winston had three grandsons; Lucca Crabb of Sioux Falls, SD; David Crabb of Lincoln, NE and Ian Crabb of Lincoln, NE. Two step grandchildren, Debbie and Kenny Cooperrider live in Sioux Falls, SD.; and 3 nieces and 1 nephew.

After medical school, Winston spent two years in the Navy at NAS Lemoore in California during the Viet Nam War. They moved to Kansas City, KA for a three year medical residency in OB/GYN. Winston and Millie and children lived in Lincoln, NE for 40 years raising their family and practicing medicine until his retirement. The couple moved to warmer Rio Rancho, New Mexico in 2014. Winston’s last act of charity was a donation of blood for the hurricane victims.

Services are planned for 2p.m. Friday, October 20, 2017 at Daniels Family Funeral Services Southern Chapel, 2400 Southern Blvd, SE in Rio Rancho, NM. Following the service a reception will be in the funeral home.
