It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our G.O.A.T., Edgar (Ed) R. Fenstermacher, Jr. on January 24, 2025. He passed peacefully surrounded by his family. He was a loving husband, an awesome and dedicated dad and a very proud Tapa. We will miss his fun personality, loud laughter, never ending jokes and the sparkle in his eyes as he told his stories. Ed leaves behind the love of his life, the apple of his eye, best friend of 56 years, Shirley, his children Belynda, Elias (Joey), Edgar and Keary and daughter-in-law, Kim; his grandchildren Elias, Derick, Rhiannon, Aeron, Kaelyn, Ethan, Savannah, Kade, Ella and Kendall; great grandchildren, Logan and Haley; his brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, and many dear friends. Ed landed in NM in 1968 when he was stationed here while serving in the U.S. Army. He was a Military Police and retired after serving 35 years with the civil service. Ed was an avid hunter, fisher and all-around sportsman. He had a fish story for everyone; he loved ocean fishing as much as he loved fishing NM lakes and rivers. He was in his happy place in the mountains surrounded by the trees and wildlife. He ran cross country and was a state champion while attending Lebanon High School. Ed coached his sons’ Little League teams for many years and travelled with the team when they went to the Nationals. He loved to watch football, and we were thrilled to see his Philadelphia Eagles win the Super Bowl this year! Ed could build, repair or grow just about anything. We will miss him tremendously but will continue to share stories of him and keep his laughter close. There will be a memorial service for Ed at Daniel’s funeral home on February 24, 2025. See the website for details. We ask that you go and practice a random act of kindness in memory of our beloved Dad, as this came naturally for him.
