Eduardo "Eddie" Holguin Jr.

Eduardo “Eddie” Holguin Jr. passed away on Thursday, October 7, 2021 in Albuquerque, NM at the age of 64.

Eduardo is survived by his children, Dante Holguin and Diego Holguin of Albuquerque, NM and Andrea Clever of Queen Creek, AZ; grandchildren, Lucia E. Clever. He is preceded in death by his father, Eduardo Duran Holguin.

Eduardo was born on April 10, 1957 in Los Angeles, California to Aurelia Herrera and Eduardo Duran Holguin. He graduated from Gadsden High School in 1975 and Albuquerque Technical Vocational Institute on April 18, 1980. On December 9, 1995 he married his wife of over 25 beautiful years, Joanne Baca de Holguin (Joanne Baca) in County of Bernalillo, NM.

Eduardo worked in the Forest Service for 20 years. He worked on the Cibola National Forest and National Grassland as Engineer Technician (Civil). He went on countless fire assignments and will be missed by all that worked with him.

A special accomplishment for him was delivering the Christmas Tree “Peoples Tree” to the White House. Eduardo loved wood working, staining glass, and watching soccer. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.


A memorial service will take place on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at 11:00 am at Sagebrush Church, 6440 Coors Blvd NW, Albuquerque, NM 87120. A reception will follow at Olympus Event Center, 4591 Vista Fuentes NW, Albuquerque, NM.
