Edward G. Sandoval

It is with great sadness that the family of Eduardo Grijalva Sandoval announces his passing on Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at the age of 88 years, Eddie was born October 27, 1930 in San Juan, NM to Jose and Julianna Sandoval.

He served his country in the Army during the Korean conflict and earned a living as a miner in New Mexico and surrounding states. in January 1966, he married Adelina Loera and together they raised a blended family of their own children as well as a niece and nephew. In 1996, Eddie moved to Anchorage, Alaska to be near his daughter. There he became the faithful caretaker of St. Patrick's Catholic Church until his retirement in October 2017. Eddie returned home to New Mexico last year, where he lived out the last few months of his life getting to know his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his children, Luisa of Albuquerque, Eugene of Tucson, AZ., and Reina of El Paso, TX.; and his brothers, Ernesto Sandoval, Rudy Salaiz and Danny Salaiz. He had 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his two daughters, Annette Sandoval and Julia Roy.

Services are planned for June 16, 2019 at San Lorenzo Church with graveside services following at San Juan Cemetery.
