Efren passed away surrounded by family and friends in Albuquerque, NM on January 6, 2016. Efren was 73 years old. He was born in Tijuana, Mexico on June 18, 1942 to Rosa Navarro of Latimer, Iowa and F. Juventino Antonio-Martinez of Ixtepec, Oaxaca.
Efren was a Grand Knight of Council 5729 of the Knights of Columbus, charter member of the 4th Degree, Sangre de Cristo Council and past four time president of the Breakfast Club. He worked at Samon’s Electric & Plumbing for 22 years, retiring as General Manager. Among his favorite things were traveling, golfing, dancing and fishing with his grandchildren.
Efren is preceded in death by his brother Marc Navarro of Santa Fe.
He is survived by his wife Cathy Navarro, his daughter Elizabeth (Lewis) Pozzebon of San Luis Obispo, his step-sons Joel (Lisa) Davis of Rio Rancho and Cooper Miller of San Dimas; his siblings; Jesus (Rosa) Navarro of Pomona, Rosa Olga Navarro of San Diego, Armando (Adela) Navarro of Miami, Martha Sanchez of Los Angeles, Jaime Sanchez of Los Angeles and Hector (Kathy) Sanchez of Portland Oregon and by his grandchildren, Analyssa, Caiden, Wilder, Jayson, Patrick and Kevin.
Efren’s contagious smile will be missed by his family and many friends in Albuquerque.
Visitation will take place Friday, January 8, 2016 at 6:00 pm at Daniels Family Funeral Services - Wyoming Chapel, 7601 Wyoming Blvd NE, follow by Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 9, 2016, at 10:00 am at Risen Savior Catholic Community, 7701 Wyoming Blvd NE. Burial will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery following service. Reception will follow at Daniels Family Funeral Services.
