Elaine Marie Gabrys, 82, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, February 21. She was born on June 7, 1943, in Chicago.

Over the years, Elaine lived in California and Texas, returning to California before eventually settling in Rio Rancho, where she resided for the past 42 years.

Elaine was the loving wife of George. She is survived by her children, Georgette Gabrys and Walter Gabrys (Erika); her brother, Edward Szydlowski (Glenna); her grandchildren, Albert Aronld (Cheryl), James Gabrys (Katie), Tarah Gabrys, Ashley Gabrys, and Melissa Gabrys; her step-grandchildren, Johnny Hess (Sophie) and Kaelani Hess; and six great-grandsons.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward “Ed” Szydlowski and Blanche Szydlowski.

Elaine was a loving aunt to Robert and Paul Schenider, and Edward and Greg Szydlowski.

Elaine will be remembered for her love of family, her strength, and the warmth she brought to those around her. She will be deeply missed and forever held in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
