IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Eleanore
Oseth Foskett
June 13, 1926 – January 18, 2026
Eleanore (Ellie) Oseth Foskett passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026 at the age of 99. She was born on June 13, 1926 to Gilbert and Edith Oseth (Fladager) in Spring Grove, Minnesota. She was raised on a small farm in a Norwegian-speaking community. She was proud of her Norwegian heritage.
Ellie began her schooling in a one room school house. She graduated from Spring Grove High School in 1944. She continued her education at Fairview Hospital School of Nursing in Minneapolis, MN through the Cadet Nurse Corps. She graduated in 1947 and went on to become Supervisor of Student Nurses and later became head nurse of the recovery room.
She met Richard (Dick) Foskett at a wedding. They were married on March 7, 1954. Dick’s academic career took them to Brookings, South Dakota where they started a family. In 1956 they moved to Fort Collins, Colorado where they raised their three daughters. Ellie enjoyed sewing, often making matching outfits for all three girls. She was involved in Girl Scouts, serving as both Brownie Leader and Neighborhood Chairperson. As an active member of the Methodist Church, Ellie became involved in Church Women United. She especially enjoyed her participation in Fort Collins Interfaith Council which emphasizes that all faiths have more in common than they have differences. Ellie lived in the same home from 1963-2022 in a close-knit community where she enjoyed the many neighborhood activities.
Ellie moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 2022 to live with her daughter, Nancy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Foskett. Survivors include daughters Carol Cordsen (Ben) of Fort Collins, CO, Nancy Mazzei of Albuquerque, NM, and Susan Cobb (Charlie) of Denver, CO, 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
The family plans to have a Celebration of Life in June 2026.
